I daren’t question crime statistics, but
As any big city more thrilling at night, this one
Is even calmer and homelier then.
The illuminated crowd
Say that pre-theater throng’s jocund jostle
Their faces like those of burglars bejeweled by expectation
Makes one cotton to all
The surrounding nocturnality of megalopolis.
