Epigrammata XXXVIII - Clever Mirror Inversion

My right arm hurts, from the shoulder down to the thumb.
I'm a natural lefty, so it shouldn't be that important
But I can do certain things only with my right hand
Even though the other one is way more gifted.

I'm unable to write with that left hand, I was taught so in
___________________________________ school;
The teacher thought I'd preferably train the awkward one.
She was right. Soon enough it went superior to its better
________________________________counterpart.
But I sure pay for it, I am subject to writer's cramps and
_____________________________________stuff.

Simply take a brilliant student and teach him to reflect--
His left will be his right and his right will be his left.
He'll start staring into himself and the upshot may be
__________________________________ stunning:
As to be subject, one has to become one's own object first
He'll be object to the above-mentioned palsies as well.

XXXVIII Inversion intelligente

Mon bras droit me fait mal, de l'épaule jusqu'au pouce.
Je suis né gaucher, cela ne devrait donc pas être trop grave ;
Or, certaines choses, je ne les réussis qu'avec ma main droite
Bien que la gauche soit nettement plus douée.

Je suis infichu d'écrire avec cette gauche, on m'a appris cela à l'école.
L'institutrice pensait qu'il fallait plutôt enseigner à la moins adroite.
Elle avait raison. Celle-là fut bientôt plus apte que son pendant supérieur.
Mais je le paie, bien entendu. Je suis facilement sujet à des crampes.

Prenez simplement un étudiant brillant et apprenez-lui à réfléchir :
Sa droite sera sa gauche et sa gauche sera sa droite.
Il se mettra à s'observer lui-même, le résultat peut être mirobolant :
Puisque, pour être sujet, il faut d'abord devenir son propre objet
Il sera également objet aux susdites paralysies.
